Saco, ME hired CAI to migrate their existing Tax Map data into our standardized geodatabase maintenance data model. Having the GIS parcel data in the CAI maintenance data model allows CAI staff to perform maintenance more efficiently and ensure data quality. Once migrated CAI completed a backlog of edits bringing the data current to 3/31/25. With the data up to date, CAI prepared new PDF Tax Maps for the City. Going forward CAI shall maintain the data regularly using deeds and plans submitted by the City and then once annually produce new updated Tax Maps.
Following the conversion and updating, CAI setup and configured AxisGIS Pro for the City. AxisGIS is an easy to use yet powerful online mapping service developed/hosted by CAI and is currently contracted in over 550 communities. AxisGIS will make the City’s map/GIS layers and Vision Assessment data available to Staff and the public through a powerful and searchable mapping interface. Being on the AxisGIS Pro platform will allow City staff the ability to update the GIS data through their ArcGIS Online Organization. https://www.axisgis.com/SacoME
