Bedford, NY has contracted with CAI Technologies to provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services. Initially, CAI shall be converting their CAD Tax Maps into ESRI geodatabase format and performing a backlog of parcel maintenance edits. Once the mapping project is complete, CAI shall implement our AxisGIS online platform and providing annual parcel data maintenance services going forward. Spatial accuracy of the Town’s existing parcel data shall be improved by aligning it with the most currently available orthoimagery. AxisGIS is an easy to use yet powerful online mapping service developed/hosted by CAI and is currently contracted in over 350 communities throughout the Northeast. AxisGIS will make the Town’s map/GIS layers and RPS Assessment data available to Staff and the public through a searchable mapping interface.
