Cumberland, ME recently hired CAI to migrate their existing Tax Map data into our standardized geodatabase maintenance data model. Having the GIS parcel data in the CAI maintenance data model allows CAI staff to perform maintenance more efficiently and ensure data quality. Once migrated CAI completed tax map updates bringing the data current to 4/1/26. With the data up to date, CAI prepared new PDF Tax Maps for the Town. Going forward CAI shall maintain the data regularly using deeds and plans submitted by the Town and then once annually produce new updated Tax Maps.
Following the conversion and updating, CAI configured AxisGIS Pro for the Town. AxisGIS is an easy to use yet powerful online mapping service developed/hosted by CAI and is currently contracted in nearly 600 communities. AxisGIS will make the Town’s map/GIS layers and Vision Assessment data available to Staff and the public through a powerful and searchable mapping interface. Being on the AxisGIS Pro platform will allow Town staff the ability to manage the GIS data simply by logging into their ArcGIS Online Organizational account. https://www.axisgis.com/CumberlandME
